La Cropte (deriving from crypt) is a small village well away from the major tourist routes, located in Mayenne, on the banks of the Vaige in green and undulating countryside.
Its flower decorations, consisting predominantly of perennial and meadow plants, make the traditional surroundings of this village particularly attractive.
The inhabitants are especially fond of planting and sowing all kinds of rustic species, perennials and sometimes more sophisticated cultivars.

The tower of the former church, dating from the 11th century, is listed as a historic monument. This tower, built of local slate, is very sober in its lines and buttresses and is enhanced by plant displays that are tasteful and sober.

At the entrance to the village, around the former wash-house, a leisure area has been created and decorated with flowers. The river makes this place a haven of freshness and calm.

Be sure to see: the Calvary made of flowers and the contemporary devotional sculptures by Patricia Ménouha in and around the church.
